About Us
Powered by young leaders who believe that learning tools should never be a barrier to creativity or success.
A student-led mission to close the education gap
Crayons for Change was co-founded in 7th grade by Avyu and Mohammed with a simple belief: no student should fall behind because they cannot afford a crayon.
What started as a local school supply drive has grown into a nonprofit running free STEM camps, international outreach, and community partnerships. Today, our leadership team is made up entirely of high school students who give their time, energy, and creativity to serve classrooms near and far.

Mohammed Aamish Mansuri
Vice President, Executive Director & Co-Founder
I co-founded the organization in 7th grade alongside Avyu, driven by a shared belief that every student deserves access to basic educational resources. What started as a small initiative quickly grew as we began organizing school supply drives and outreach efforts to support underserved communities. Through consistent effort and collaboration, we expanded our impact beyond local efforts, working on larger-scale initiatives such as our Ahmedabad drive, which supported over 130 students and distributed more than 700 school supplies. Since then, I have continued to take on a leadership role as Vice President and Executive Director, helping guide the organization's growth, manage operations, and lead strategic initiatives. Founding the organization at a young age taught me how to take initiative, build a team, and turn an idea into a meaningful, scalable impact.
